Woodward Dream Cruise 2015

The Woodward Dream Cruise cannot be described. It can only be experienced. It is too big. Too diverse. Too surprising to be encapsulated in a simple blog post. But I'll do my best. It's almost like going to a whole new complete car show every two blocks, over a 14 mile stretch. Whether you're into brass era, low-riders, exotics, American Muscle, J tin or European makes, it's all there on display, and driving around throwing revs at spectators. Even the manufacturers are in on it. Mustang Alley is not to be missed. And Chrysler put on a hell of a show, taking people for drift rides in Vipers and Hellcats. Amazing! This is only the second year I have attended, and it will be on my list for years to come.

Our first stop of the day was Mustang Alley. There are usually 600+ Mustangs, including this amazing Gulfstream Aqua Mach 1 and the new 2016 GT350 above. Drool...

Yes. the exotics come out to play too. My son’s favorite is the Aventador. I bet him we would see one. We saw two.

It’s not every day that you get to see a Radical driven on the street. I wonder if it overheats in traffic.

Of course there are tons of Hot Rods at Woodward. This particular ride was sporting vintage Hemi power, an exhaust with a side dump for the strip, and a front bumper made from a camshaft. Neat-o.

The real action was at the Dodge booth. Go for a drift ride in a Viper or a Hellcat. Line was kind of long, but it looked like a blast! Kudos to Dodge (and their lawyers) for making something this awesome happen.

This was the Roadkill Charger, complete with Hellcat swap. Yes please.

While we’re on the subject of engine porn, I’ll take this Hemi with fuel injections and STACKS, BABY!!!

I’m gonna end this trip with these vintage dragsters. Pie crust slicks, big block engines, blowers, and a driver’s seat nestled right behind the rear end pumpkin - yes, driving these bad boys took some balls of steel!

And finally, the one that got away. I saw this bugger going the other way and my eyeballs came out on stalks. An Isetta with a V8 Transplant! Yes, EVERYTHING shows up at Woodward!
